Kelmscott Community Options is a service underpinned by the unwavering belief that personal recovery is possible for everyone.

Overview

Kelmscott Community Options provides 24 hour, 7 days a week, staff support in a homelike environment. Each resident is provided with the support of a Mental Health Recovery Practitioner, who will walk alongside them on their recovery journey. The service recognises that each person is different, and their experiences and aspirations are too. 

Kelmscott Community Options has 8 beds shared across two houses. Each house has private bedrooms, with shared bathrooms and communal living areas.  

Recovery programs and activities are offered 7 days a week. 

Kelmscott Community Options primarily accepts referrals from patients who have had lengthy hospital stays, with priority given to patients referred from Graylands Hospital. 

Eligibility and Service Entry Criteria

  • Aged 18-64 years of age.
  • Formal diagnosis of mental health disorder (must be the primary concern).
  • Must be willing to actively participate in their recovery journey.
  • Referrals must come from a hospital setting, with referrals from Graylands Hospital being prioritised.
  • Please note that Kelmscott provides support for adult males and adult females, and is unable to provide accommodation for children, couples, families, or pets at this time.

Rates

Current rent per fortnight:

  • Disability Support Pension (DSP) > 21 years : $560
  • Disability Support Pension (DSP) < 21 years: $450
  • Job Seeker: $420
  • Youth Allowance (Inc. Youth Disability Support): $410
  • Youth Allowance (Exc. Youth Disability Support): $330

Resident rents are subject to review annually in April each year.

How to apply

This handbook outlines each supported accommodation service and gives an overview of how Richmind WA can support you on your recovery journey to live the life you want.

If you require the Handbook sent to you by Australia Post, please contact us on 9350 8800 and request a copy.

  • Complete the Referral Form

    This can be completed by anybody – yourself, a family member, a Carer, a case manager, mental health service provider, social services or other health provider you are linked in with.

  • Talk with a Case Manager

    Upon receiving both your Residential Referral Form Richmind WA will contact you or your referring case manager to advise you if we are able to progress with your referral, or to seek further information. If your referral meets our eligibility criteria, your referral will then be put forward to the suitable program or site manager.

  • Accommodation staff interview

    Staff at the referred service may arrange an interview with you and speak with other stakeholders to assess your suitability. Where preference is indicated for a particular program, we will try to meet the request.

  • We’ll Get In Touch

    Shortly after, Richmind WA will contact your referrer to discuss the outcome of your referral.

To apply for this service, please contact Richmind WA’s Intake team via email intake@rw.org.au or call us on 1800 742 466 (available 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday) to speak with a team member. Our team will then send you the relevant form and other information to help you through this referral process.

Please ensure all Eligibility and Service Entry Criteria are met when submitting your referral.

Richmind WA takes your privacy very seriously. Any personal information collected will be protected by Richmind WA policies and procedures. In the referral process, this will include your social, medical and psychological information.
