Queer Company is a Mental Health Commission (MHC) project which aims to develop the workforce and cultural capacity of the Mental Health and Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) sector to provide more inclusive services to LGBTQIA+ people. This innovative project is being delivered by Richmond Wellbeing – a leader of community mental health services in WA for more than 46 years –and the first organisation in WA to achieve Rainbow Tick Accreditation (2017).

Queer Company consists of 3 elements:

  1. A series of animated training videos that focus on common LGBTQIA+ misconceptions in the workplace as a way to build capacity amongst staff and peers
  2. Q&A panel events with diverse LGBTQIA+ representation to provide the sector with best practice insights into the lived experience of being LGBTQIA+
  3. A leadership program to build sector workforce capacity and cultural awareness.

The resources and events are free to all Mental Health and Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) sector organisations in WA who want to provide more inclusive services to LGBTQIA+ people.

To ensure Queer Company represents current best practices from across the LGBTQIA+ community, you are invited to join a reference group to provide your input into, and feedback on, the development of Queer Company resources.
