People with mental health disabilities now have extra tools to help when applying for NDIS funding, thanks to the new ‘Living My Best Life’ program launched by Richmond Wellbeing and RUAH on 2nd March 2022.

Funded by the Department of Communities, this joint venture program is designed to address the barriers faced by people with mental health disabilities when applying for NDIS funding. The program uses a graphic novel and animations to follow the journeys of several diverse characters as they apply for NDIS funding and seeks to enhance the knowledge of NDIS registered providers through free professional development training.

“I think it’s a great initiative” said Minister for Disability Hon. Don Punch MLA, who attended the launch on behalf of the Minister for Mental Health Hon. Amber-Jayde Sanderson.

“There is a disconnect in terms of the structure of service delivery (NDIS) and people being able to access service delivery. Living My Best Life is a very solid approach to bridge that gap.”

Richmond Wellbeing CEO Adrian Munro said the program will make a big difference.

“It’s not easy to navigate e the NDIS, and people need assistance. This program is about changing the narrative to say we as service providers are here to serve the community and are doing everything we can to make it easier for people to navigate the NDIS.” he said.
